SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMME

A social welfare programme was arranged by DAV Model School, IIT, Kharagpur with the initiative of Honorable principal Dr. Sweta Malani. 23 students from class VI to VIII under the guidance of 2 teachers visited an orphanage named Gopali Ashram . The main objective of this program was based on community enrichment. Effective interaction was developed among all the children. Some activities like drawing competition, singing and recitation were conducted by the students for their easy and effectual communication. The students delivered a speech for generating awareness to retain cleanliness. They all enjoyed interacting with each other that helps in fostering life skills like interpersonal relationship, empathy, self awareness, effective communication, oratory and leadership. Some tokens of love and concern were given to the children of the orphanage. The principal has lots of plans to conduct such welfare programmes that will prove beneficial for the overall development of those community children.
