Every year, Republic Day is celebrated in India on 26th January to commemorate the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect and the country became a Republic.

This special day is celebrated with festivities and patriotic fervor in DAV MODEL SCHOOL IIT KHARAGPUR.

A plethora of activities were organized to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students. School Principal, Madam Lopa Chatterjee, inspired the students with her motivational words and told all the students to abide by the constitution of their motherland and fulfill all their duties as responsible citizens. One minute silence was observed to pay homage to the Freedom fighters and Front line COVID warriors who lost their lives in this battle against the pandemic.

To commemorate the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Surya Namaskar was perfrormed by students and teachers as well. The main component of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is to connect the youth to our rich cultural heritage.
