Annual Sports Meet 2018-19
The much awaited Annual Sports Meet 2018-19 was held on Thursday 20th December 2018, with great zeal & excitement. The programme began with the welcome of the Honoured Guests and esteemed gathering by the Teacher In-charge Mrs. Lopa Chatterjee. Emphasis was put on the importance of sports in a child's life for holistic growth.
The Honorable Chief Guest - Prof. Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya Deputy Director, IIT Kharagpur; took the salute of the impressive March Past by the students, accompanied by the school band. Guest of Honour - Prof. B. N. Singh, Honorable Registrar, IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Somnath Sen, Honorable Chairman, School LMC & Prof. Subrata Chattopadhyay, Dean Alumni Affairs, IIT Kharagpur also joined in taking the salute.
The Sports Day was celebrated in true and fair spirit with the hoisting of the Sports Flag followed by the DAV Anthem, Lighting of the Sports Torch and oath being administered by the Sports captain.
The students mesmerized the audience with an energetic cultural programme. Various Sports events followed. Events were also organized for the parents and staff of the school in which everyone participated with enthusiasm.
The Sports Day concluded with Prize distribution, Lowering of the Sports Flag, Putting out the Sports Torch followed by the National Anthem.
