NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBRATION IN DAV MODEL SCHOOL, IIT KHARAGPUR ON

11^th NOVEMBER 2019

The nation celebrates the National Education Day on November 11^th as a mark of respect to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of India, to commemorate his birth anniversary.  In spite of being a staunch advocate of universal primary education for all children up to the age of 14, he also supported women's education.

DAV MODEL SCHOOL, IIT KHARAGPUR celebrated the day with different activities sensitizing the students about the importance of education and its function in personality development, holistic growth which imbues one with knowledge and confidence.

As part of the celebration, various activities were organized for students of classes III to XI including Essay writing, Elocution, Card making, Slogan writing and Rally to create awareness among the children about the importance of this day.

The school echoed with Slogans presented by the students of class X to cascade down awareness about the life-changing role of education.

Students of class XI showcased their eloquence by delivering speech on the topic ‘Education-need of the hour ‘amidst loud cheers of applause.

In the Essay writing activity conducted for the students of class VIII, the focus was on the positive influence of education in a student’s life.

A rally was organized highlighting Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s commitment to different aspects of education.

The icing on the cake was the beautiful card making activity done by the tiny tots of classes III & IV.

The commemoration did reinforce that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.
