The Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year across India to promote Integrity in public life and achieve a corruption free society.

DAV MODEL SCHOOL, IIT Kharagpur observed the Vigilance Awareness Week from 28 October 2019 to 2^nd November, 2019 to bring social awareness and instill integrity and honesty among the students. The theme for this year was " Integrity: way of life ".

A special assembly was conducted to sensitize students about the various wrong practices and how one should be vigilant. The CBSE drive towards preventive vigilance as a tool of good governance was explained to the students. The Integrity Pledge was taken by all in the assembly. All students, teaching and ministerial staff pledged to make ‘Integrity’ a way of life.  The school organized several competitions at different levels to create awareness on vigilance in public life as per the guidelines from the Central Vigilance Commission, an apex integrity institution of the country in its endeavour to promote transparency, probity and integrity.

A Poster making & Slogan writing Competition for classes VI to VIII and an Inter House Debate Competition for classes IX and XII was conducted during the CCA period in the school. The topic was included in the teaching plan too and students were able to give suggestions to put an end to existing corruption in the administration. The objective of the programme was to stop corruption in future and make the students honest and responsible citizens of India.
