ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2024-25

DAV MODEL SCHOOL, IIT KHARAGPUR

 

The Annual Sports Meet 2024-25 of DAV Model School IIT Kharagpur was held on 1st February 2025 at the school grounds. The distinguished guests for the event were Mr. Bhaskar Chaudhuri, Executive Director of Rashmi Group, and Dr. Nirmal Kumar Som, Senior Medical Officer at B.C. Roy Hospital, IIT Kharagpur. They were felicitated by Principal Madam Lopa Chatterjee with a memento and a small token of appreciation from the DAV Family.

The event commenced with a welcome song, followed by a group dance, flag hoisting, and the lighting of the Sports Torch. The salute was taken by our esteemed guests during the March Past by the four houses of the school. It was followed by the oath taking ceremony by students. While blessing the children the dignitaries emphasized the importance of games and sports for the holistic development of a child.

Besides events for the students, there were events organized for our esteemed parents and staff of the school. Honorable Chairman of School LMC, Prof. S. Pratik Khastgir and Prof. Subrata Chattopadhyay, Department of Architecture & Regional Planning of IIT Kharagpur were also present and they felicitated the winners.

The event concluded with the lowering of the flag, marking the end of the Meet, followed by a vote of thanks and Shanti Path. The event filled the young athletes with a sense of ‘Happiness’, 'Self-confidence,' and of course the ‘Spirit of Sportsmanship’.
