'Learning by doing' is the key aspect of modern education and DAV Model School, IIT Kharagpur gives a chance to the learners to move beyond the passive learning, allowing individuals to explore, experiment and develop problem solving skills in real-world context.
The tiny toddlers get a chance to improve their eye-hand co-ordination as well as finger flexibility by performing activities like tearing and pasting, collage making, ear bud activity, thumb printing, rubber band activity etc.
Letter hunt, picture counting and arranging sequence help them to develop problem solving abilities and the activities like making word-tree helps them to add a few features to their word-crown.
Games like hopscotch gives them a concept of rules along with physical balance.
Students showcase their cultural outlook and national integrity by observing Rath- yatra, Rabindra Jayanti and making collage of the houses and clothes of different regions.
The theme 'Best out of Waste' is perfectly depicted with the help of pencil shred activity and straw activity.
Observing friendship day gives them a chance to regulate their emotions and the qualities like team work, co-operation is displayed through puppet show.
Colour day celebrations, mixing colours help them to do experiments and make their knowledge more colourful. On the other hand, abacus develops their number and counting skills.
