Aaron Maiti, a Class X student of DAV Model School, IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal, has brought immense pride to his school, family, and nation through his outstanding performance at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2026, held in Turin, Italy.
Aaron first demonstrated his exceptional academic ability by securing 38th rank among approximately 18,000 students in the Indian National Entrance Test Earth Science Olympiad (INEESO), the national entrance examination for IESO. He subsequently secured 1st position in the Training Camp Examination, held in M.S. University, Vadodara, Gujarat, earning his place among the distinguished students representing Team India at the International Earth Science Olympiad.
At the IESO 2026 in Turin, Aaron achieved two remarkable international honours:

Bronze Medal – International Team Field Investigation (ITFI)

Following his successful return to India, Aaron was further honoured and felicitated by the Honourable Minister of Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh, at the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Prithvi Bhawan, New Delhi, in recognition of his outstanding international achievement.
