“Plant a tree today for a better tomorrow”

DAV Model School IIT Kharagpur is celebrating Van-Mahotsav week from 1st to 7th July to spread awareness of forest. This festival is also known as “Forest Festival”. Plantation drives are carried across the country. India has taken a target of creating additional two million carbon sequestration by 2030. On Van-Mahotsav people plants saplings and encourage more people for various plantation drives.

By creating an awareness & imparting the significance of the conservation of forests and planting of new trees, we are carrying out the legacy of Shri K.M. Munsi, the Union minister of Agriculture, who initiated it in 1950.

On this occasion various activities were conducted in our school.
