Children’s Day 2025

DAV Model School, IIT Kharagpur celebrated Children’s Day with vibrant enthusiasm, marking the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and honouring his love for children. The event featured a spectrum of activities that showcased the creativity, joy, and imagination of the students.
The day began with a thematic assembly conducted by the teachers, highlighting the significance of the occasion and spreading Nehru’s message of love, learning, and leadership among the young learners.
The Nursery kids delighted everyone by dressing up as their favourite cartoon characters such as Pikachu, Little Singham, Mickey Mouse, Son Pari, Spiderman, and Superwoman, bringing beloved characters to life with smiles and excitement.
Adding depth to the celebration, young students also represented National Heroes, paying tribute to the great personalities who shaped our nation and spreading messages of courage and dedication to honour Nehru’s legacy. Mythological storytelling came alive as children dressed up as mythological figures, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions in a colourful display of costumes and performances.
Enthusiastic dance performances by classes I & II added extra sparkle to the celebration, captivating the audience with their energy and creativity.
The teachers further boosted the festive spirit by performing an action song, which filled the hall with laughter and joy while strengthening the bond between teachers and students.
These festivities not only filled the school with happiness but also reinforced the values of imagination, respect for tradition, and admiration for national heroes - an apt tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s vision for the country’s future generations.
