The Annual Sports Meet Momentum 2025 of DAV Model School, IIT Kharagpur, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 29 November 2025. The school playground buzzed with energy as the event commenced with the hoisting of the Sports Flag and the lighting of the Sports Torch, powerful symbols of perseverance, integrity, and the spirit of fair play.
The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Prasanta Kumar Shannigrahi, Medical Superintendent of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Superspeciality Hospital, IIT Kharagpur, whose presence added dignity and inspiration to the ceremony. The school also warmly welcomed the Guests of Honour—Mr. Bhaskar Chaudhuri, Executive Director, Rashmi Group; Miss Dipika Chowdhury, distinguished Kho Kho player from the Indian Women’s Team; and Mr. N. K. Gautam, Principal, DAV Public School, Midnapur. Their encouragement and support elevated the spirit of the meet.
To commemorate the occasion, the students presented a melodious welcome song followed by an invigorating dance performance, setting a lively tone for the day. The four houses then showcased creative and thought-provoking thematic displays on “Back to the Vedas,” “Unity in Diversity,” “Indian Cricket,” and a reverent tribute to Rabindranath Tagore. Each presentation reflected artistic excellence, cultural awareness, and teamwork.
The excitement continued with a series of track and field events, including the 100m, 200m, and 400m races, along with the relay race. The audience also enthusiastically cheered the special events for parents and staff, which added warmth and inclusivity to the celebration.
The dignitaries awarded medals and certificates to the winners, applauding their determination and noteworthy performances. Hansraj House proudly emerged as the Champion House of Momentum 2025.
The event concluded with the lowering of the Sports Flag and the extinguishing of the Sports Torch, formally marking the close of the meet, followed by the solemn rendition of the National Anthem.
Momentum 2025 stood as a resounding celebration of teamwork, discipline, and sporting excellence, leaving an enduring impression on all who witnessed it.
